The Anti-Joan Movement

Plenty of celebrities are fed up with Joan Rivers, and they are heroes in this anti-Joan movement!! This page is dedicated to them, in hopes that more and more celebs will revolt against Hated!Joan and snub her at every single awards event. It may not change Joan's too, but it might get her knocked off the imaginary high horse she's been riding on.

Janeane Garofalo

After Joan's endless harping about Janeane's attire at the 1997 Emmys, Janeane spared no effort in speaking out about Joan's nastiness. She made this slam against Joan: "What Joan Rivers does isn't funny or clever or contemporary. She is the most anachronistic comic around. Her punchline is, like, 'Bitch!' When she saw Bette Midler at the Emmys, she made a mooing sound and pawed the ground..."
Rosie O'Donnell

Janeane Garofalo relayed the story about Joan Rivers at the Emmys to Rosie O'Donnell, who also had a lot to say about Joan's type of "comedy". "I don't like that kind of comedy. I always had a problem when Joan Rivers did it. It's not funny to make fun of somebody's weight or especially some of the public figures that were struggling in detox centers. I thought that people's jokes about her husband's death would have changed her..."

Marlee Matlin

When Hated!Joan was interviewing Marlee Matlin, who is deaf, Joan addressed all of her questions to the interpreter instead of to the Oscar-winning actress. Later, in the background Marlee Matlin was seen signing "Bitch" in Hated!Joan's direction.
Walter Matthau

Walter Mattau is great. He's let Joan have it at two awards ceremonies. At the 1995 Oscars, Joan made a comment to him about it maybe being time for him to get married to his girlfriend, and Martin responded, "Mind your own business." That was good, but three years later at the Oscars he was even better. Joan Rivers was interviewing him and said something about it being a very long time since he'd won his Oscar, so he replied, "You're Joan Rivers, aren't you? That's how old I am. I actually know who you are."

Joey Lauren Adams

At the Independent Spirit Awards, Joey Lauren Adams quipped, "The coolest thing about this (awards ceremony) is that Joan Rivers isn't here."
Natasha Henstridge

In an interview with Mr. Showbiz recently, Natasha Henstridge was talking about models getting a bad rap. She said: "There's nothing worse than Joan Rivers doing that whole thing: 'She's too thin', 'She's fat'. I mean, get a life! It's so stupid!" Way to go, Natasha!
